Bike Shop:
Attn: Dealers & Friends
If you received
this e-mail that means I think you might be able to help or have a
connection with someone that can. Most of you are with suppliers whose
products we sell at Mudslingers or friends that have hosted events in
the past. If you have any connections and can spare a few minutes it
would be a huge help. We are open to any idea so feel free to contact
me. (630) 552-7433.
Thank You, Justin Joray (details below)
Sorry for the mass e-mail but I'm working with a short timeline. We are
holding a benefit jam for the father of two riders on our Mudslingers
team. There father was hit by a motorist while walking a few weeks ago
so we are rising money to support the family while he is in the Hospital
(est. 3-4 months). Anything you can donate for silent auctions and a $1
raffle during this event would be a huge help. Sorry for the short
notice but this was the only free weekend at the indoor skate park in
our area. (Circus Skate park will be donating 100% of the entry fees) I
have attached a flyer for the event. Feel free to print then or post
them on the web.
Thank You, - Justin Joray @ Mudslingers Bike &

10-26-09 - Wake season has pretty much come to an end for the
year, time to winterize the boats and gear up for some indoor motocross,
snowboarding or whatever your winter sport of choice is. Who cares about
that football stuff! Get your butt off the couch and do something! Hope
to see you on the "slopes" or at the track! Be sure to check out
our moto site for updates on
results throughout the winter!

winter activities, check out

10-15-09 - RIVER GAMES RECAP:
The First Annual Heritage
Harbor RIVER GAMES event, although late season was met with 80 degree
temps, sunny skies and pressed out water! Let’s start by saying Heritage
Harbor is one of the nicest properties in the Illinois River Basin.
This brand new Marina accommodates
all size vessels, has a yacht club, restaurant and many other amenities
including tons of space for camping, luxury b&b accommodations and is
just minutes from Quest Water Sports location for all your service and
pro shop needs (www.heritageharborottawa.com,
www.questwatersports.com) .
Our big Saturday event began with our
campers that showed up Friday rolling out, launching their boats and
getting geared up followed by a steady stream of day trippers launching
and populating the shoreline. Chicago MasterCraft, Liquid Sports Online
and Raging Buffalo Wakeboard School set up an onshore footprint to
showcase their end of season inventory, prep riders for on water
complimentary demos and give initial instruction to newcomers (www.chicagomastercraft.com,
www.liquidsportsonline.com,
www.ragingbuffalo.com). As the sun got high in the sky, a steady
queue of riders took advantage of the demo gear and free instruction
aboard several MasterCraft boats launched for the clinics including
riders ranging in age from 8 to 60 (I am guessing). Folks enjoyed
onshore fitting of gear specific to them and their ability including use
of wakeboards, wake skates and surfboards from top of the line
manufacturers. They then were assigned to a boat with an experienced
operator and progression coach suited to get the new riders started or
help them work on their latest trick. Upon returning to the starting
dock an onshore debrief was provided by coaches who assessed each rider
as they made their passes from the starting dock. (Thanks to grassroots
groups
www.midwestmilitia.net,
www.soulriders.com and www.all-actionsports.com for providing
operators, coaches and promotion).
As the day progressed more boats
launched and folks enjoyed grilled favorites, soft drinks and beer
provided by Crawdad’s bar and grill, played volleyball and bags while
the DJ spun a fine set of late summer fun cuts. As we moved toward
sundown the sky popped with color as a team of jumpers from Skydive
Chicago descended on the harbor trailing smoke landing among the crowd
that had assembled to kick off the not so mini “Air and Water” show(www.skydivechicago.com).
The skydivers bundled their chutes as a procession of thrilling
barefoot, ski, wake surf and wakeboard athletes began their shoreline
passes thrilling the crowd as the MC called the big tricks and crashes
to wrap up the day.
As the sun set, campfires ignited and
the number of campers grew to take advantage of a similar Sunday
forecast. The Day trippers trailered their boats and headed home. This
is sure to become a calendar staple event for Family Fun on the water
with accommodations and something for everyone from the young grom to
the sophisticated day yachter. What a way to wrap up summer! Thanks to
all who made it possible and those who came out!

FALL FALLOUT PRESS
RELEASE AND EVENT DETAILS - PLEASE See Below for more info on why we
had to change locations
9-24-08
- The Illinois River is in decent shape and ride-able at your own risk,
please feel free to come camp at Skydive Chicago and utilize one of
Ottawa's many public boat launches and get some riding in.
9-23-08 -
*PLEASE READ* THE BAD
NEWS....
DUE TO THE RECENT FLOODING ON THE ILLINOIS RIVER THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE
IN PLANS FOR FALL FALLOUT.
We waited as long as we could in hopes the water would go down and
conditions would be good enough for Fall Fallout at our usual location
"The Busted Prop" in Ottawa, IL. Unfortunately the Busted Prop had
8 feet of water in the building recently and the whole campground was
submerged under water until last week. The water has gone down but
this has left the property with subpar conditions not suitable for
camping or holding an event. We feel it is in our and
our participant's best interest to not hold the event at The Busted Prop
Sept. 26-28.
NOW THE GOOD NEWS - Instead, one of
our premier sponsors,
Skydive Chicago
has offered to allow us use of their campground and facilities to host
our end of summer bash in Ottawa, IL. I will be meeting with the owner
Wednesday the 24th to go over all of the details, so please check back
for more info on prices and activities. They are located on a 270
acre very scenic piece of Land in Ottawa, IL located on the Fox River,
unfortunately the part of the Fox they are on is too shallow for
wakeboarding, but they do have a huge campground with running water,
showers, sand volleyball, canoeing, hiking, biking etc. Not to mention
they will be having skydivers going all weekend long; they are the
premier skydiving facility in the area and we encourage you to come
check it out. They also have a nice big pond with sand beach, a
tiki bar with entertainment, bonfires, food and drinks all weekend. The
prices will be very reasonable and we guarantee it will be a good time!
If you have any questions or would like any information please contact
us:
info@midwestmilitia.net or
call Tim @ 815-405-5362 - Again please check back for more info over the
next couple of days.
For more info on the facilities
and directions to skydive Chicago check out their website:
www.skydivechicago.com
We apologize for any inconvenience
this may have caused and we encourage you to still stop out to
Skydive Chicago
for some good times.

Better late than never - here's a
Photo Gallery from Boot Camp '07
that was recently sent to us!
9-20-07 - Fall Fallout 2007 - More Details and Information Below!!!!
* There are no cooler charges for this event, but lets hit up the bar Saturday night and throw them some business.
* Camping: $15 per night OR $25 for the whole weekend. Camping is per tent or motor home/RV. Your tent or camper will be tagged to show that you have checked in.
Friday Night:
Bonfire outside like previous fallouts, with a keg of Coors Light. There will be a $5 cup charge with proceeds going to the bar, but you will get a raffle ticket with an 'R' on it. The raffle ticket can be redeemed for a free ribeye sandwich on Saturday night at the bar. Wiffle ball, fiddy's, bags...have at it.
Saturday:
Ride, ride, ride, wiffle ball, bags, etc, etc, etc....We will have a double up comp, probably around 3 pm or so. The timing is flexible on this and there will only be about 12 spots for it. So, it should go fast.
This time of year, the sun is setting about 6:50 or so.
Saturday Night:
We're looking to have the d-up comp video'd from inside the boat and will play back the video at the bar, starting at 'about' 8:30. We will pick the top 3 in each category, then the crowd that is in the bar will decide on who wins each category. Then the DJ will start and we will party down at the bar
The Prop did get nailed with that last flooding...the public docks are trashed, the grounds are in ok shape considering the damage.... great for Fiddy ridin' though!
9-12-07 - The Fall Fallout 2007 Flyer is now available for Download; check back for more details on camping fees, we will know by Thursday of next week. We'll also post any other updated info that we may have. We are hoping to do a double up competition if we get at least 10-12 to sign up! It will pay cash for best trick, biggest air and best crash. This event is not going to go by any set schedule, its just going to be a laid back grassroots style event. So come on out and have a good time, hope to see you there! Don't miss the end of summer bash at the Bar on Saturday night.
9-12-07 - For info on accommodations or
directions to Fall Fallout:
Lodging and Accommodations
9-12-2007 - We are hoping to have the video done from Boot Camp very soon, Ryan from Hyptonic is hopefully about finished up with editing, so check back for that. A lot of people took pictures too, unfortunately I was too busy to take any - and nobody ever got me their pictures to post on the site, so that is why we don't have a photo gallery from Boot Camp. Thanks to everyone that came out to Boot Camp and made it happen. Congrats to Joe Montalto on taking 1st place in our toughest Outlaw Division ever. Also thanks to Laura Lohrman for coming out and ripping it up! Huge thanks to all of our sponsors for everything, especially Chicago Mastercraft for bringing 2 boats, Liquid Sports for setting up their pro shop and hooking us up with some sweet raffle prizes. Also Ultimate Wake for providing a 2007 Supra, and Dockside Marine for Demo-ing their 2007 Correct Craft all weekend.
NOTE: Our web host recently did a
server upgrade and we lost all of our link bars on the left and right side
of the page. Some other things got messed up too, so this is why you
haven't seen any updates lately. It should be all fixed now. Our apologies
for those who we link to from every page of our site; but it shouldn't be
too long until I get a chance to rebuild them all.

Lake Shelbyville - June 2007 Photos
5-25-07 -
Wow! May Demo Days was huge this year to say the
least. This is by far the best kickoff event we have ever thrown
down, if you missed it you missed out! Liquid Sports really
stepped it up this year - pretty much rollin' with a whole pro shop on
the grounds of the Busted Prop, dishing out Ronix and Gator boards and
bindings for people to try left and right!! Let's not forget Jeff with
Slingshot who came all of the way from Oregon with a full line of their
new gear - people we're raving about their stuff; look for more from
Slingshot in the near future. Central Clothing was on hand
hooking people up with their fresh line of clothing and Mark w/ Chicago Mastercraft was pulling people all day behind the PWT X-Star. Neil's
Ultimate Wake Watersports Supra 21V was only out of the water for a few
minutes before the
Militia threw down a huge raffle and followed it up at The Busted Prop
with our Season Kickoff party. Jeff with Dockside also spent all day on the river
showing of their new Nautique. We gave out a Gator Boards
Wakeskate, some of Cire Boardwear's new gear, Central gear, clothes and
accessories from UGP, swag from MidwestWakeboarder.com, Raging Buffalo,
and our new local sponsor SkyDive Chicago tossed in a free tandem
skydive (Congrats to Vet rider Jeff Roman for taking that home).
Special thanks also to Vince with Oneill for throwing in some top of the
line Oneill gear and demo-ing a new Mastercraft CSX (I don't think they
caught any Marlin's but they caught everybody's attention with that
boat). Rumor has it the wake is SICK! Also big thanks to the
Soulriders for all of their help and to Skier's Choice Supra/Moomba;
thanks to them we we're able to give everyone a preview of the special
edition Midwest Militia/Supra/National Wakeboard League T-shirts.
A Huge thanks goes out to everybody who made this event happen, and we
are looking forward to seeing you at Boot Camp - and judging by the
looks of our May Demo Days, Boot Camp is going to be the biggest
grassroots event to hit the Midwest this season.

We we're featured in Ottawa, IL travel magazine which is produced by the Ottawa Visitor's Center to be distributed and points of interest throughout the state. Props to Team Kankakee's Curt Trizzino for making the cover!! Peggy with the Visitor's center came to boot camp last year to experience the event and take pictures, and Ottawa native's Tim Damron and David Baxter provided her with information about wakeboarding, the Midwest Militia and the wakeboarding scene in Ottawa and throughout the Midwest. Great job and thanks for all of your support Peggy and everyone at the Ottawa Visitor's Center!

12-27-06 - I know its been a
while since you've seen any updates on our site, I apologize for that -
we we're just on a little break between wake and snow season. This
doesn't mean we haven't been behind the scenes already planning our 2007
season which is rapidly approaching! We have some new stuff in mix
this winter and for the 2007 wake season, so check back for updates and
info. Here's a few things that have been happening:
* A new edition to the Militia Family in September - Korra Rene' Damron
was born on Sept. 18th to Tim and Michelle
* I've made a few updates to our sponsor page, so be sure to check that
out and visit our sponsors links. We are in the process of getting our
2007 sponsors lined up; we'll have a 2007 sponsor brochure that you can
download if you are interested in becoming a
sponsor for any of our events.
Be sure to check out

to see what is happening all over the Midwest!
9-22-06 - Ok, we did have a couple
setbacks in the planning of Fall Fallout; but not to worry, we have
worked really hard to get everything rollin' for our last event of
the '06 season. You can download the Fallout Flyer below and check

8-29-06 - Sorry for the lack of
updates since Boot Camp, things have been really hectic and it takes a
while for people to get all of their footage together. Boot Camp
06 was a huge success to say the least; our biggest turnout we have had
so far. The weather cooperated, the water cooperated and the
riding in the tournament was some of the best we've seen. As expected
the partying was off the hook as well. I will have all of the
results from the tourney posted soon (everything is still in boxes in my
garage, as soon as I dig everything out I will post it up on the site).

6-1-06 - The weather finally
cooperated with us and we had a great turnout for the first event of the

Chicago Mastercraft for pulling people all day behind the '06 X-star.
Also, Neil for offering up pulls all day behind his 2006 Ultimate Wake
Watersports Supra 21v. Ryan from the Kankakee Wakeboarder crew was
providing pulls behind his brand new orange Mastercraft X45, people we're
raving about that boat!. Also thanks to Keith from Raging Buffalo
for offering up rides behind their new X2 and the guys from EPIC put on
a great demo with their boat and some rippers from Minnesota.
Saturday night we had a really nice raffle compliments of OAKLEY,
Central Clothing, CIRE Boardwear, UGP, O'neill, Concussed Threadz,
DOUCARVE.com, Raging Buffalo, Gator Boards and Chicago Mastercraft.
The raffle was followed up by an impromptu "50cc motorcycle demolition
derby" in the parking lot of the Busted Prop, then it was up to the
Busted Prop for a full night of partying at their newly renovated bar.
Huge thanks to the Busted Prop and their new management and all of our

3-9-06 - Ok, the new layout is done!
There are probably some mistakes, but I will eventually get it all lined
out. Some changes include a new enhanced layout, random images

to the site or refresh the page. Updated links to get you hooked
up with all the right companies and organizations. If you see anything
that does not look right or don't work shoot me an email:

2-7-06 - If you wondering why I
haven't had too many updates lately, it's because I have been trying to
put together a new site layout. I just feel we need a change of
scenery. Once I get a little further I will post a preview and
then the site will graduate into a "new look".
2-7-06 - Our Orlando trip is only a
couple of weeks away, so check back for an article and hopefully lots of
pics from the trip.
12-14-05 - HO HO HO - No I am not
dissin' yo mama, Merry friggin' Xmas! I know I haven't updated in a
while, so sorry about that, everyone needs a break now and again.
Its December now and we are in full Snowboarding mode now (except some
certain 219ner's that goes into hibernation every winter
coughNEILcoughcoughMEL). If you have any info on any snowboarding events
in your area, feel free to email me the info, I will be happy to post it
up. Normally we have info on here about "Freeze 4 Life" charity
event and Winter Waterland on here by now, but neither of these events
are happening this year, but that doesn't mean we aren't busy planning
next years events; look for the Militia to bring back 3 kickass events
again next year, we might even try to throw a couple unique twists in
this year, who knows? We should have some dates set in stone
before the Chicago boat show, so be sure to stop by Chicago Mastercraft
and Ultimate Wake Watersports at Chicago Sea Ray for info on next years
events!
Also, check back for some footage and pics of our Nick and Julz

10-5-05 - Fall Fallout Wrap Up...
Fall Fallout was this past weekend, and was a great time to say the
least! The weather was perfect and the water was calm, so
there was some good riding and the partying was off the hook. Huge
thanks to those who helped out; Raging Buffalo, Soulriders, The Shred
Shop, Chicago Mastercraft, Ultimate Wake, Central Clothing,
Grizzly Sports, The Busted Prop, Twistoff Films, Hyptonic Films and the
list goes on!
To sum it up, the Minnesota Crew starting showing up on Friday afternoon
and then more and more people rolled in that night. We pretty much
partied until dawn at the bar then woke up Saturday and went out and
rode all morning and into the afternoon. The double up contest
started @ 2:30, there were about 12 people that competed. Results
were as follows, Best Crash was Casey Goss with a 360/Backroll/?*$#$?
attempt; Biggest Air went to Mark Baxter with a HUUUGE tantrum and best
trick went to Team Kankakee's Curt Trizzuno with a nice big Hoochie.
Each contestant winner was awarded 50$ cash and a prize purse
compliments of our sponsors. Once we got everything wrapped up and
people got their boats outta the water we started our raffle, where we
had boards, bindings, gear, certificates and clothing compliments of our
sponsors. Then it was time to announce the winners of the Orlando
trip to Nick and Julz wake school! We had about 30 contestants
that entered by filling out a questionnaire in which they had to write a
paragraph on why they should win the trip. It was a hard decision
and there were some great entries, but congrats to the following
winners; Beth Kalin (Fox River Grove), Dave Clayton (New Lenox),
David Baxter (Ottawa) and Jeremiah Johnson (Newark). They get an
all expenses paid tip to Nick and Julz wake school in Orlando this
winter "chaparoned" by none other than myself (Tim) and Mark. To
my surprised nobody turned down the trip when they found out we were
going too. Then the bonfire was lit and the partyin' began!! The
party started outside and once the wood was all burnt, (and the couch)
the kegs were all gone and the burgers were all gone some went to bed
and some carried the party on up into the bar until it closed down.
Thanks for everyone who made it out and thanks for making all of our '05
events a success!!!!

8-15-05 - Boot Camp goes on despite
rainiest weekend of the year.....
Well, this summer has been said to be the worst drought since 1988, and
Mother Nature couldn't have picked a worse weekend for the Midwest to
come out of it! But, despite rain and storms Thursday, Friday,
Saturday & Sunday, we still managed to have a decent turnout for Boot
Camp this year. The die-hards started showing Thursday from
Minnesota and Michigan ready to camp and ride all weekend and not let a
little (LOT) of rain hold them back! One good thing was the
conditions kept pretty much every other boater off of the river, so it
was pretty much ours. The tournament went smooth and as planned
with the exception of a 1 hour delay, all of our drivers and judges were
pretty much soaked an hour into it, but it the rain did manage to let up
some in the afternoon and the water conditions were good all day with
little wind. There was a lot of good competition and all of the
scores for the top three were really close, they will be posted soon.
A Huge thanks to all of our
sponsors, we really had a great raffle this year, we gave away
boards, surfers, bindings, board racks, gear and a ton of clothes, then
followed it up with the band "Verbal Warning" who couldn't have sounded
better. Thanks to Concussed Threadz and Central Clothing for
sticking it out as well and setting up booths for the weekend.
Also huge thanks to the Soulriders crew for all of their help with
everything.
Fall Fallout is our next event coming up September 30th-October 2nd -
look for a little twist for this event! More details coming soon!
We've had bad weather for 2 of our events this year, so let's keep our
fingers crossed and hope for great conditions for the Fall Fallout
Double up Competition and party.
Midwest
Wakefest is this weekend, hope to see you there. Look us up
for some free stickers, we'll be near a Miller Lite Tent on the
campgrounds or out in a white/grey Mastercraft X2 or a white Supra 21V.

the water, should be like that all weekend, just make sure you get up
early and get your butta'!
7-11-05 - We are proud to announce 2

5-16-05 - May Demo Days was this
weekend and all in all it was a really good time. The riding
conditions were pretty much brutal the whole weekend, so it was not a
great day to demo boards and boats - but the partying afterwards made up
for it! We had high winds from the west that just tore up the
Illinois river, which made us have to postpone the double up comp and
eventually cancel it because it just got worse. We had a pretty
good raffle with items from CIRE, UGP, Oakley, Wakeworld, Cobian and
some Midwest Militia stuff. I should have a link to some pics and

had Freeze for Life, Winter Waterland, the infamous Ken and Heidi
Soulrider wedding reception (congrats and thanks by the way) the boat
show w/after party, all of which we somehow participated in. We
are looking forward to next season and we hope to see everyone at our
events.
I don't really have much new news to post, so if there is anything going

1-27-05 - The boat show was last
weekend and it was great as usual, there was a party afterwards at
the Wabash Tap in Chicago where Eric Ruck's brother's band "Braided
Funk" played all night. From what I remember it was a pretty good
time. Eric Ruck was there handing out some stuff as well as Laura
Lohrman, Danny Harf and Melissa Marquedt (I think, I didnt actually see
her though). Midwest Militia donated T-shirts can coolies and a

Shop and watch everyone freeze their A** off!

- Hey Midwest Riders. Demo day is still
in full effect for Saturday May 1st. The weather is looking up
with a high of 58 and a slight wind from the north, scattered showers in
the Morning diminishing towards the afternoon, which will make for
some sweet riding conditions! The river is usually calm when the
weather is overcast If you are thinking about not coming because of the
rain, you will be missing out on great water conditions. We rode 2
weeks ago and the water was in the mid 60's. It should even be
warmer than that now
The
Busted Prop (indoor) lounge will be open all day serving all of
your favorite drinks. So don't miss out on the best boats,
gear and boards just because of a little rain!

We are in the
process of revamping midwestmilitia.net for the 2004 season - I am working
on a little bit different look and more links for events, boating, shopping
and stuff like that. I would also like to get a forum going on the site.
We have not set a date for Boot Camp 2004 yet, so check back often on that.
We are definitely going to get an earlier start on things this year and try
to get some new sponsors for next year so we have even more prizes to give
away. Mark and I are currently working on getting some new MWM
merchandise made up that will hopefully be available on our website by the
first of the year. If you have any suggestions on how to make our
website and or Boot Camp better for 2004 feel free to email
us your suggestions. Thanks everyone for your support in the
2003 Season!
10-7-03 -
Fall Fallout
was a great time - minus the storms, wind and crappy water there was a lot
of good partying that went down. Trashed my slider board doing some
"gravel boarding" in the storm behind my truck Friday, Mark
trashed his A** trying to slide off of a john boat on a 15' cliff
Saturday night and landed on a jetski that was below, X-tian lit some bottle
rockets out of my butt (had jeans on), the girls peed off of Marks roof, so
on and so forth. Thanks Dan and Anne for coming all the way from Minn. and
thanks Soulriders
for sticking it out and making it a great weekend and thanks to Jarrod from Borededup
for filming the carnage all weekend. Hope to see some good footage in
your 1st video next year. Its getting about time to get the snowboards
out.
